{Salad to eat} Chickpea salad with lots of vegetables and chorizo. Super against starvation and other little bitches.
A coming home in the evening, really nasty if-I-don't-now-what-neat-to-eat-get-then-hungry and out of sheer givenness and did not make day-to-day challenges know what you want to eat. Bad! I know. So mäkelig and decision unpunished, I go myself totally on the mind. Which admittedly does not make the problem much better. On the contrary.
The man fanned out the possibilities: "Do we want to get something from the Asian snack? Or I could go shopping fast. We could also order a pizza. Or I jump down to the Mexicans quickly. "He definitely does not want me to cook now either. The fastest possible de-escalation of the frolic with starvation seems to be the measure of the hour for the man. But the options do not all please. Of course not - that would be too easy. It can not be that we are not able to make a decent dinner at home. Ha!
The man rolls his eyes. Because we just tick differently. A delivery pizza would not make me happy at all now. And we already had Asia yesterday. And anyway.
I'm trudging into the kitchen. The kitchen is a quiet and peaceful place. Already because of its tiny size - much more than I just do not fit in there. At least not without turning your stomach in a circle. I take a deep breath, throw a series of The Three ??? digitally on the boom box * and open the fridge. The small light radiates friendly-yellow towards me. I will be confident. And then I make the world's best Hungerast salad to eat properly. Everything will be fine.
Here comes the recipe for a nice big bowl of chickpea salad with lots of vegetables and chorizo:
2 chorizo sausages (if needed) peel and do not cut into thin slices. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan and fry the sausage until crispy. Then remove from the pan.
Cut 2 red peppers and 4 sticks of celery into cubes or slices. 1 large onion peel and cut into rings. Fry the vegetables in the remaining fat in the pan for 5 minutes until soft, but still slightly firm. With a little salt , lots of black pepper , 1 pinch of chilli powder , 1 teaspoon garam massala (Indian spice mix) and
Put 1 can or glass of chickpeas into a sieve, rinse under running water and drain.
Mix the sausage, chickpeas and vegetables in a large bowl. Season with a dash of red wine vinegar and some olive oil and season with salt and pepper .
1 Fry flat parsley and chop it under the salad.
Sit on the couch, insert Game of Thrones and munch on the world's best salad. Running. Again.
Tip: The salad tastes great the next day as well. That's why you can take leftovers off to work for lunch - or just double the portion.
